Rainbow Scarf Pattern

This is one of the simplest pattern to practice single crochet. No need to crochet particular amount of
chains. You can make this scarf as long as you want. While making chains, wrap it around your neck to
decide how much length you want for the scarf.

As the pattern name says, you can take as many colours as you want and any ply of yarn. The scarf is mostly crocheted in 8 ply yarn. However different ply yarns are also used in the project.

4 ply yarn is used with 2 strands held together and finer yarns are used holding 3 strands together. So basically you have to maintain the thickness of the yarn and good color combinations. You can also used leftover yarn for this project.

The scarf is worked sideways. After finishing every row, you have to turn the work and start making a new row.

Different colors Yarns, 5 mm crochet hook.

Crochet chains for desired length of the scarf.

Single crochet (Sc) in 2nd chain from the hook and in every chain, till you reach the end. Fasten off. Leave a little longer thread (tail) before cutting. Cut the yarn and turn the work. Add a new colour and start crocheting a new row.

Crochet minimum 13 Rows or more.
For 13 rows, the (rainbow) combination is followed as below:
violet - indigo - blue - green - yellow - orange - red - orange - yellow - green - blue - indigo - violet

After the rows are completed, firmly knot each "tail' to the one next to it to form a tassel. Extra threads of the same colours can be added for volume.
